A two (possibly three) year postdoctoral position will be available at the
beginning of 1996 in the "Laboratoire du Metabolisme" (INRA-Versailles,
FR) to work on gene expression in the seed coat of the pea seed during its
development. More precisely the work will consist in the isolation and
evaluation of promoters for specific expression in the pea seed coat. This
work is a part of a FAIR project addressing nitrogen and carbon metabolism
in grain legume for engineering. Two leading laboratories in England and
in Germany are also involved in this project. The successful applicant
will join a reaserch group studying pea seed development and sink strenth
genesis and control.
Applicants should have a PhD in molecular biology based discipline
preferably with experience in promoter isolation.
Position has a salary of ca. 12,000 FF monthly, tax-free in some case
(depending of the nationality of the successful applicant). The
INRA-Versailles Centre and the close Orsay-Gif campus provide a favourable
environment for scientific emulation and support with lots of researchers
having skills in molecular biology, gene technology, biochemistry and
Applications, including a full CV and the name and address of two
referees, should be sent to Jean-Pierre Boutin, Laboratoire du
Métabolisme, INRA, Route de St Cyr, 78026 Versailles, France, preferably
