The 1996 International Arabidopsis Meeting is to be held at the
University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK over the dates
Sunday, 23 June - Thursday, 27 June.
There are to be ten lecture sessions covering embryogenesis,
vegetative development, reproduction, growth regulators,
pathogens and biochemical genetics. Speakers for the majority
of the programme will be chosen from submitted poster abstracts.
In addition there will be one invited speaker per session who
will also act as the session chairperson.
Due to lecture theatre constraints the number of registrants has
to be limited to 450 and participants will be chosen from their
submitted abstracts. The deadline for registration and the receipt
of abstracts is:
Successful applicants will be notified by the end of March.
There is to be a permanent poster display area, poster board
size is 4FT(120cm) high by 3FT(90cm) wide.
An informatics workshop and a poster reception are scheduled for
Sunday, 23 June; lecture sessions will commence on Monday, 24 June.
The Wednesday afternoon will be free and there will be a range of
optional excursions for that time.
The registration fee will be 130 pounds (poster reception and
conference dinner/party included). Accommodation and meals are
not included in the registration fee, but will be bookable on
a daily basis (rooms will be available from 22 June to 28 June).
Bed and breakfast will cost 21/29 UKP per night for
standard/ensuite single rooms. Meals will cost approximately
10 UKP per day. Creche places should be available over the period
of the meeting.
NO PAYMENT IS NEEDED NOW,
PAYMENT WILL BE REQUESTED UPON ACCEPTANCE.
The abstract book is to be compiled electronically and will be
available on the World Wide Web before the meeting. For this
reason it is very important that abstracts are received by E-mail;
although this will preclude text formatting in the abstract book,
this should be greatly outweighed by the advantages of access
via the web.
