Most tobaccos are day-neutral. However, there are varieties with
other photoperiodic behaviors. Notably, Nicotiana silvestris is a long
day plant and Nicotiana tabacum cultivar Maryland Mammoth is a short day
plant. For more information, a good place to start is the Nicotiana
chapter in volume 6 of the CRC Handbook of Flowering (CRC Press, Inc.)
