Seed production in darkness?

Dear fellow arab-netters,

I've backcrossed some mutants and am currently raising the F1 generation. 
I would like to speed the process up as much as possible and would be
satisfied with only 100 seeds/plant.  I am using a 24 hour photoperiod at
the moment but I've seen a few references that claim even more rapid
flowering can be achieved under complete darkness.  Has anyone used this
method with seed production as a goal?  (Both parents are in Columbia
background.)
