diepoxybutane-help

Last week I did EMS and DEB mutageneses. 
This week the EMS seeds are growing fine, but nothing from the DEB treatment.
I used 1,2,3,4-Diepoxybutane (= 1,3-Butadiene epoxide) from Aldrich.
Seed imbibed overnight in the cold were treated for 4 hr at room temp in 
22mM DEB in H2O (as per Ecker paper). Then washed and planted. No 
germination after 9 days.

Any suggestions/help much appreciated.
