Highlights from the Poster Sessions
Speakers will be selected from among the junior scientists who are=20
presenting posters.


All attendees will be offered the opportunity to present a poster at the=20
conference. The sessions, which will be held in the late afternoons (4:30=20
to 6:00 pm), will coincide to the extent possible with the program topics=20
of the day. Special efforts will be made to encourage poster=20
presentations by scientists whose research is pertinent to, but not=20
normally presented at, meetings attended by plant temperature stress=20
researchers. The poster sessions at the previous meetings of this=20
Gordon Conference have been well received (60 posters were=20
contributed at the 1995 meeting) and have become an important=20
component of the conference.  Poster abstracts should be sent directly=20
to Charles Guy, Department of Environmental Horticulture, University of=20
Florida, Gainesville, Florida 32611-0670, USA.  The deadline for receipt=20
of poster abstracts is January 15, 1997.

Funds have been set aside to assist early career scientists (graduate=20
students or postdocs) in attending this Gordon Conference.  For the=20
first 20 early career individuals that make a request to the Chair, Don=20
Ort, $250 will be provided to offset some of the costs associated with=20
attending the conference.  The intent is to provide a mechanism for=20
partial funding that may be beneficial in helping the early career scientist=
in obtaining travel support from their university, department, or=20
