Postdoctoral research position available Immediately
To continue efforts towards characterization and map based cloning of the
Arabidopsis egs1 locus (Dehio and Schell 1994. PNAS 91:5538-5542). The EGS1
gene is involved in gene silencing and recessive egs1 mutations enhance the
silencing of the rolB transgene in Arabidopsis. This project is already
well established. The map position of the locus is defined within 4 map
units and a large mapping population is available. This position is ideal
for someone with an interest in the mechanism of gene silencing. Candidates
with experience in working with Arabidopsis will be preferred. Contact
