Postdoctoral Position
The Application of DNA Microarrays to Problems in Plant Pathology

A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study host-pathogen
interactions in the Arabidopsis-powdery mildew interaction
using custom-made DNA microarrays. The project will consist in part
of optimizing methods associated with producing and utilizing the
DNA microarrays. The DNA microarrays will then be used to
characterize a collection of powdery mildew-resistant Arabidopsis
accessions. A strong background in molecular biology or
biochemistry, laboratory skills in DNA and RNA/cDNA manipulation,
and familiarity with computers and various sequence analysis
software programs are required. Experience with Arabidopsis or plant
pathology is desirable. Send a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of
your research interests (two pages maximum), and the names,
addresses, Email addresses and phone numbers of three references
to Dr. Shauna Somerville, Department of Plant Biology, Carnegie
Institution of Washington, 260 Panama Street, Stanford, CA 94305 or
via Email (Shauna at Andrew.Stanford.Edu). Applications accepted
until Sept. 12, 1997 or until a suitable candidate is found.
