GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP (PhD or Masters) - To conduct
research investigating the development of phytophthora root rot
resistant rhododendrons through the introduction of a novel disease
resistance gene.  Another component of the project will be the
development of ELIZA pathogen test kits.  Start date is January,
1998.  MS (approxi $13,500) PhD (approx. $14,000 to 15,500) 20
hrs/week.  Applicants must have a strong background and skills in
molecular genetics and plant transformation.  Experience with woody
