Molecular Biologist position
A position is available immediately at MIPS for a Molecular Biologist to
work within the European Arabidopsis thaliana sequencing project (ESSA),
funded by the EU.
MIPS is the informatic coordinator and is responsible for the analysis,
annotation and presentation of genomic sequence data produced within the ESSA
project. Further tasks are the maintenance of databases, the communication
with people involved in the project and the establishment of WWW-applications.
Experience in the analysis of sequence data on UNIX or VMS systems and a
strong background in molecular biology are required. Special knowledge of
Arabidopsis genetics and/or physiology would be advantageous. Excellent
communication skills in English and the desire to work as a part of a
multidisciplinary team are necessary.
MIPS is a group of the GSF, located at the Max-Planck-Institute in Martins
ried near Munich.
The position can be funded for at least one year. Disabled persons with
equal qualification will be preferred. The salary is according to BAT with
the usual benefits.
