Two postdoc positions are available immediately in the area of Arabidopsis
cell biology and signal transduction at Plant Biotechnology Center, the
Ohio State University.

One position is to study genes that control cell polarity in Arabidopsis
pollen. Haploid pollen provides many advantages for genetic analyses of
important cell biological problems, e.g., cellular polarity and
cytoskeletal organization. The postdoc will be encouraged to develop his
or her own independent projects using the pollen system. Experience in
molecular genetics is required, and experience in Arabidopsis genetics and
microscopy preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience and
qualification.

A second position is in the area of plant signal transduction. The
position is funded by Battelle and could eventually lead to a permanent
position in plant molecular biology at Battelle's laboratory in Columbus,
Ohio. Battelle is a non-profit research and technology development
organization, serving industry and government, and seeks to expand its
agrochemical discovery program. The starting salary is $28,000 plus fringe
benefits. Strong background and experience in plant molecular biology is
required, skills in Arabidopsis transgenics and knowledge in signal
transduction are a plus.
