POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN FUNCTIONAL GENOMICS VIA DNA-MICROARRAY TECHNOLOGY
A postdoctoral position is available in early 1998 at the MSU Plant Research
Laboratory to assist in the development of DNA microarrays for the large
scale analysis of gene expression. See
Http://cmgm.stanford.edu/pbrown/explore/index.html or Science 278:602 for
description of the technology. A gridding robot and a laser fluorescent
scanner have recently been purchased by MSU and will be installed in the
Plant Biology Building. This postdoc position will involve initial
optimization of DNA microarray technology and subsequent functional
genomics applications with plant and microbial genomes. The postdoc will
collaborate with labs at MSU and Shauna Somerville's lab at Stanford to
establish the technology and its application. Some travel between
collaborating labs will be required. The position is initially for one
year but is expected to be renewable by mutual agreement. Send CV with
names of three references by Dec. 15 to John Ohlrogge, Dept. of Botany and
Plant Pathology, Michigan State Univ. East Lansing, MI 48824, or apply
directly to Pam Green or John Ohlrogge at the Dec. 11-14 Arabidopsis Genome
meeting at Cold Spring Harbor Lab.
