New Recent Dataset Added to AtDB BLAST & FASTA
In a recent message from Todd Richmond at Wisconsin he suggested that
AtDB add a dataset with just the recently additions to GenBank. This
would allow all the old hits, that you have seen so many times, to be
avoided.
I've implemented Todd's suggest in the following manner. You will now
find a "Recent" dataset in both AtDB's BLAST and FASTA forms. This
dataset includes all sequences included within the weekly New
Arabidopsis Sequences messages, posted to this list, for the past
month. This dataset will be rebuild every Saturday. At the moment this
dataset includes 195 sequences and a total of 4,957,031 nucleotides.
This was not exactly what Todd wanted because by including all
sequences mentioned in the weekly posting I am includes new sequences,
updated sequences, and sequences that simply have updated
annotations. It is a start, if this is a useful dataset I can make
enhancements in the future.
Please send suggestions and comments on all parts of the AtDB database
and Web resources to: atdb-curator at genome.stanford.edu
