Developmental Mechanisms
        The Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill invites applications for a tenure track position at the level of
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in the area of cell and developmental biology.  We
particularly encourage applications from individuals using biochemical,
molecular, or genetic approaches to analyze developmental mechanisms
using model organisms such as C. elegans, Drosophila, Arabidopsis, zebra
fish or mice.  In addition to establishing a vigorous research program,
the successful candidate will contribute to the teaching mission of the
department.  The appointment will be effective July 1, 1998.  Please
submit a curriculum vitae, a two page statement of research interests, a
summary of teaching interests, and four letters of recommendation to:
