The Department of Botany at the University of Florida invites applications
for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor in PLANT PHYSIOLOGY to begin in
August 1998.  Preference will be given to applicants with postdoctoral
experience who incorporate molecular techniques in some aspect of stress
physiology, or in a research area that complements the Department's
strengths in signal transduction, photosynthesis, and plant responses to the
environment. The University and Department place a high priority on
teaching, thus candidates will be expected to have excellent communication
skills, and a strong commitment  to both undergraduate and graduate
teaching.  Applicants should arrange to have a curriculum vitae, brief
statements of  future research goals and teaching philosophy, reprints of
published papers, and three letters of recommendation mailed to: Plant
Physiology Search Committee, Department of Botany, 220 Bartram Hall,
