A post-doctoral position is currently available for an individual with a
background in plant biochemistry or plant molecular biology to study
molecular and genetic aspects of natural product (secondary metabolite)
biosynthesis in Arabidopsis. Current work in the lab focusses on mutants
that are defective in the biosynthesis of sinapic acid esters and lignin
(Chapple et al., 1992, Plant Cell 4: 1413-1424; Meyer et al., 1996, Proc
Natl Acad Sci USA 93: 6869-6874; Lorenzen et al., 1996, Plant Physiol 112:
1625-1630; Bell-Lelong et al., 1997, Plant Physiol 113: 729-738).
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in biochemistry or molecular genetics is essential
and experience with biochemical techniques such as gas chromatography or
HPLC would be an advantage. Interested individuals should submit a CV,
