Postdoctoral position in plant molecular biology

Applications are invited for a position as postdoctoral researcher to work
on the molecular and functional characterization of protein interactions in
the plant cell wall. The research will focus on the interaction of a
glycine-rich protein in the xylem cell wall with other wall components
(Plant J. 12, 97-111, 1997) and on a recently discovered, new class of plant
wall proteins. The latter class of proteins is possibly involved in
signalling in the extracellular compartment. The role of these proteins in
plant development and in signal transduction will be studied.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology or related
sciences. They should have research experience in molecular biology and
protein biochemistry. Experience with light microscopical techniques would
be an advantage.

The appointment will be made as soon as possible on a yearly basis for a
period of up to three years. The salary will start at CHF 65'000.-.
Inquiries and applications including a letter of interest, curriculum vitae
and three references (incl. phone/fax/email address) should be sent to:
