Postdoctoral position available to study induced resistance of plants to
insects. Novel mutations affecting the systemin and jasmonic acid
signaling pathways for anti-herbivore defense have been identified in
tomato (Plant Cell 8:2067; Plant Physiol. 114:1442 Suppl. S '97).
Molecular genetic and biochemical approaches are being combined to
identify and study the genes defined by these mutations. Previous
experience in molecular genetics/biology or lipid biochemistry
preferred. Send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and names of
three references to: Gregg A. Howe, MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory,
Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48824. Or send by email to
howeg at pilot.msu.edu.
