xyleme development

Dear collegues,

I am currently analysing an arabidopsis mutant that could be affected in
xyleme development.
Does anybody knows if
    -the number of xyleme bundles
    -the number of differenciate tracheary elements per bundle
are constant in wt arabidopsis stem (col ecotype) or if they depend on
stem width (which can be affected by different growth conditions).
Any advice or reference would be greatly appreciated.
