Postdoctoral position

A postdoctoral associate is required to join an expanding plant cell
biology group interested in intracellular protein targeting and the
synthesis of the plant extracellular matrix. The aim is to determine the
function of a family of putative Golgi-glycosyltransferases in cell wall
polysaccharide synthesis. The approach will involve Arabidopsis reverse
genetics and analysis of mutant and transgenic plants. Experience in
general cell and molecular biological techniques, Arabidopsis genetics,
light and electron microscopy, or cell wall analysis would be an
advantage. The post is for up to three years, is funded by the BBSRC,
and is available from 1 October 1998. Salary will be on the RA1A scale,
currently =A315159-=A321016 p.a.
Applicants should send a CV and the names of two referees to Dr. Paul
Dupree to reach him by August 21st 1998 at the Department of
Biochemistry, University of Cambridge, Cambridge CB2 1QW. Tel. +44 1223
333340; Fax. +44 1223 333345. E-mail: p.dupree at bioc.cam.ac.uk
