     Position Description

     This position is to join a diverse  and dynamic research group
     working on the  metabolic engineering of xanthophyll and
		 isoprenoid production in crop plants,  particularly seeds.

     The research project includes gene discovery and gene cloning,
     engineering DNA constructs for plant transformation, molecular
     analyses and molecular tracking of transgenic plants through
     the first stages of product development.


     Position Qualifications (minimum education / experience)

     The position requires at least a BS degree with 3-4 years
experience
     or a master degree with 1 to 2 years of experience. Candidates
should
     be proficient in molecular biology techniques such as cloning,
RNA
     isolation, PCR, bacterial expression systems, etc. Also required
is
     experience in basic biochemical analysis techniques such as
Western
     analysis, preparing and purifying proteins for antibody
production and
     routine enzyme assays.
     A degree in Biochemistry or  Molecular Biology is required.

     Additional Relevant Experience:

     Additional relevant experience includes familiarity with computer
     software for nucleic acid analysis, information systems and
molecular
     biology and biochemistry database searches.
