postdoctoral position

[Natasha Raikhel]

Postdoctoral research position is available to participate in a
collabirative project investigating the biosynthesis of plant cell wall
polysaccharides.  The group of investigators includes Hans Kende, Kenneth
Keegstra, Natasha Raikhel and Jonathon Walton. Fucosyltrasnsferase, an
enzyme that adds side chain  residues to xyloglucan  has recently been
purified and corresponding cDNA clones  have been isolated. The successful
candidate will join the ongoing projects to analyze cell wal biosynthesis
using these molecular probes and to extend our studies to other wall
biosynthetic enzymes. Highly motivated candidates with demonstrated
experience in plant molecular genetics  are strongly encouraged to apply.
The initial position will be for one year and may be renewed by mutual
agreement. Compensation will be competitive, depending on experience, and
