post-doc position: MOLECULAR GENETICS OF PLANT AQUAPORINS
A post-doctoral position is available to work on the MOLECULAR PHYSIOLOGY
OF AQUAPORINS IN ARABIDOPSIS in the laboratory of Dr Christophe
MAUREL at the CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette, France.
The position starts in september, 1998, and is funded for two years in the
context of a EU contract. IT IS OPEN TO CANDIDATES FROM ALL NATIONALITIES
Current research in the group includes the molecular and functional
characterisation of plant aquaporins and the study of their regulation and
physiological role in planta. For recent references of the laboratory see:

The main objective of the post-doctoral researcher will be to isolate and
characterize T-DNA insertion mutants of aquaporin genes in Arabidopsis.
The research will be carried out at the Institut des Sciences Vegetales in
Gif-sur-Yvette, a nice location 25 km south of Paris. More can be learned
about this position and current research in the institute by accessing its
WW site at
A strong background in molecular biology and in Arabidopsis genetics is
preferred. Additionnal skills in physiology and biophysics would be
