Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions for research in the
Systematic Reverse-Genetics of the P450 Gene Family in Arabidopsis. This
research program, which is a collaborative activity of the
Feldmann/Feyereisen/Galbraith groups and is supported by USDA-NRICGP for
three years, has as its focus elucidating the molecular functions of P450
genes and their products.

The successful applicant will work in a discovery-oriented,
multi-disciplinary environment to advance our understanding of the function
of P450 enzymes in plant growth and development. Projects include but are
not limited to (1) isolation of additional P450 mutants via reverse
genetics, (2) sequencing of P450 genes to obtain information to be used to
discover gene function, (3) characterization of expression patterns of P450
genes via array hybridization, (4) genetic, physiological, and anatomical
analyses of the P450 genes and their products and (5) biochemical analysis
of P450 function through heterologous expression.

Appointments are normally for three years, with the second and third year
of funding dependent on availability of funds and satisfactory progress.
Applicants should send an introductory cover letter, a statement of
research accomplishments and aspirations, a Curriculum Vitae, and names of
three references to: P450 Program -- Attention David Galbraith, Department
of Plant Sciences, 303 Forbes Building, The University of Arizona, Tucson,
AZ 85721. Review of applicants will begin March 30, 1998 and continue
until positions are filled.
