ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PLANT-ANIMAL INTERACTION


The Department of Biology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University (Virginia Tech) invites applications for a tenure track,
Assistant Professor position concerned with plant-animal interaction,
beginning August 1999. We are especially seeking candidates willing to
interface with faculty in our department who have established research
programs in the fields of ecology, physiology and evolution. Applicants
should have postdoctoral experience and background in the biology of
plant-animal interactions.  The successful candidate will be expected to
develop a competitive research program and participate in undergraduate and
graduate teaching. A letter of application, curriculum vitae, statement of
both research and teaching goals, and letters from three references should
