expression of B subtilis genes in Arabidopsis

Hi there:

I am interested in creating transgenic Arabidopsis lines that express a B.
subtilis gene. The start codon of the B subtilis sequence is UUG and has a
very poor context relative to the plant consensus sequence but this can be
fixed.  More importantly, the codon usage of B. subtilis differs from
Arabidopsis fairly substantially for several amino acids. Can anyone report
on their experiences (successes or failures)  with expressing B. subtilis
sequences in Arabidopsis?
