Post-Doctoral Research Associates
(Plant Genetic Engineering)

Two postdoctoral research associate positions are available in the plant
genetic engineering laboratory of Alberta Research Council at Vegreville,
Canada, to work in the areas of improving canola oil quality and molecular
farming. The candidate will be involved in isolating genes from various
organisms and introducing them into crop plants. A Ph.D. with background in
plant biochemistry/molecular biology with demonstrated experience in
recombinant DNA technology and plant transformation is required. Experience
in protein biochemistry will be an advantage. The successful candidate will
be involved in gene cloning, making DNA constructs, transforming plants and
analyzing the transgenic plants.  Application must be received by 31
December, 1999.
This is a term position for two years with the possibility of renewal.
Salary is  $36,000 or higher plus benefits depending on qualification. Mail
