Postdoctoral Position - Phloem Proteins

Postition Summary:
A postdoctoral position is available to study the structure/function of
phloem proteins and the expression of altered phloem proteins in transgenic
plants.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The goal of this NSF-funded project is to determine the function and
molecular interactions of structural phloem proteins. Intergeneric
complementation studies of genes encoding structural phloem proteins are
being conducted in both grafted and transgenic plants to determine the
molecular basis of protein-protein interactions in phloem-protein
structures.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in plant biology or related field and be
eligible to work in the United States upon employment. The successful
candidate should have demonstrated experience in molecular biology,
including techniques for protein and mRNA localization or plant
transformation, and have a strong interest in vascular development.
