postdoctoral position is available immediately to study signaling in
plant-microbe interactions. We are using combined genetic and
molecular approaches in the model plant system
<italic>Arabidopsis</italic> and crop plants tomato and tobacco to:
1) gain insight into how plant resistance genes mediated signal
transduction pathways lead to hypersensitive response (localized cell
death), restriction of pathogen spread and systemic acquired resistance
(Science 276:726-733) and
2) study viral pathogenesis.
