The Department of Biology, San Francisco State University (SFSU),
is searching for a Cell/Molecular Biologist. The successful applicant will
be a cell biologist using molecular tools. The candidate is expected to
establish an active research program, direct masters-level research
students, seek extramural funding, and participate in the undergraduate and
graduate curriculum. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate
and graduate courses in cell or molecular biology. SFSU is a comprehensive
university whose faculty maintain strong commitment to teaching as well as
to conducting and directing research.
The position is for an Assistant Professor. A Ph.D. is required
and postdoctoral experience is desirable.
The Department consists of 40 faculty with diverse research
programs in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, and Organismal
and Population Biology (see our website http://www.sfsu.edu/~biology).
Faculty research is supported by departmental core facilities that house
state-of-the art equipment including an automated sequencer and robotics.
