The following full-time lectureship has just been advertised in the
Botany Department, University College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland.

Lectureship in Plant Molecular Biology
Department of Botany
University College Dublin

Applications are invited for a fulltime permanent Lectureship.  The
appointee will contribute to teaching in the Four Year Honours Degree
programmes for Botany, Botany/Molecular Genetics, Plant Genetic
Engineering, Cell & Molecular Biology and the M.Sc. in Plant Molecular

The Department offers modern facilities for research in plant molecular
and cell biology, both in-house and on the UCD campus.  There are
excellent opportunities for co-operating with other plant scientists in
the Department and in other faculties.  Availability of external
research funds is good, and expected to improve under specific Irish
Government strategic research initiatives.  Internal funds are available
for conference travel of staff and research students.

Applicants should possess an excellent research record in the general
area of plant cell and molecular biology, with a good ability to
communicate in a teaching environment.  Preference may be given to
applicants whose expertise falls within the strategic research
objectives of the Irish Government.
