A two-year position is to fill in  Dr. Wolfgang Werr laboratory (Institute
of Developmental Biology) to assist in a dominant-negative  approach in
transcriptional control. The Chimeric Repressor Interference System (CHRIS;
patent pending)  uses a strong transcriptional repressor domain to reprogram
plant transcription factors and has been successfully applied to different
types of transcription factors in Arabidopsis. The successful candidate,
strong background in molecular biology a plus,  will be responsible for the
application and future development of CHRIS in Arabidopsis and maize.

Cologne is an old city in centre of Germany and the big university provides
a large, interdisciplinary and competitive biology department.
