A position for a <bold>Plant Molecular Biology</bold> is available
immediately at

the Institute of <bold>Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) in
Heraklion, Crete, Greece</bold>.


The project involves generation of virus-resistant plant for potyviruses
PPV and PVY. Approaches include RNA-mediated resistance as well as
characterization of potential host resistance genes. The project is
financed by the Greek ministry of Research and Technology.


The IMBB and the cooperating Dept. of Biology of the University of Crete
provide excellent facilities.


It would be of advantage if the candidate had experience in plant
virology, techniques of plant transformation or plant cell biology.
