We are re-advertising for a Postdoc to participate in a study investigating
the molecular events associated in the initiation of apomixis
(fertilization independent seed set). The project is in collaboration with
the laboratory of Dr Abed Chaudhury at CSIRO Plant Industry in Canberra and
is concerned with the analysis of mutants that alter aspects of embryo sac,
endosperm and embryo formation. In addition to developmental
characterization, the research will involve gene isolation, protein studies
and work in the model apomictic plant Hieracium (a member of the
compositae). Essential requirements for this position include a PhD in
plant molecular biology or a related discipline and working knowledge in
