tata box position

Investigating a promoter sequence, I found  an unsually long distance
(88bp) between the TATA box and the putative start transcriptional site
(as resulted from primer extension analysis).Does anyone know  similar
cases? Could this be responsable of the weak promoter activity this
sequence shows both in vivo and in vitro?
