Post Doctoral Research Opportunities
Two Postdoctoral Research Scientists are required for a project in plant
disease resistance signaling. The first
is a two-year position (Ref. No. 25 09 14) and is available immediately.
The successful applicant will conduct a
detailed biochemical analysis of the interaction between the receptor
protein Pto and its pathogen-derived
ligand, AvrPto. These experiments will follow our previous work on
signaling in the AvrPto-Pto pathway (see
EMBO J 1999 18:3232-40). The second position (Ref. No. 25 09 15), will
be available from April 1, 2001, for a
one year period. The successful applicant will analyze protein complexes
containing components of the Pto
Applicants require a PhD for both positions and should be highly
motivated with demonstrated competence in
protein chemistry. Experience in plant biology is not a prerequisite.

Salary on appointment will be within the RA1A scale L16,775 to L25,213
per annum. The appointment level for
