<bold><bigger>Post-Doctoral Studies in Plant Biology

A post-doctoral position in plant biology is available in the
laboratory of Yves Poirier at the Institute of Ecology-Plant Biology,
University of Lausanne.


The research project is aimed at characterizing a family of membrane
proteins, recently identified in <italic>Arabidopsis thaliana</italic>,
which play an important role in the transport of inorganic phosphate in
plants (<italic>PHO1</italic> genes, Plant Physiol 97 : 1087-1093,
1991).


The project makes use of the tools of genetics, molecular and cell
biology as well as biochemistry. The candidate is expected to interact
with a group of 2-3 PhD students.


The beginning of this postdoctoral position is expected for the period
of January-May 2001.
