UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD: POST- DOC POSITION ON ARABIDOPSIS HOMEOBOX PATHWAYS

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher to work in Dr=20
Miltos Tsiantis=92 lab on dissection of plant homeobox developmental=20
pathways.

Homeoboxes of the knotted1 type are involved in regulating cell fate=20
decisions in higher plants. We are seeking to identify novel=20
components of the homebox pathway using a variety of molecular=20
genetic strategies. This is a 3-year BBSRC funded project, to start=20
as soon as practicable. The successful candidate needs to be=20
strongly motivated, and have expertise in molecular=20
genetics/developmental biology and knowledge of, or strong interest=20
in, plant development. Previous experience of working with=20
Arabidopsis would be an advantage. The project will involve=20
collaborative work with groups of Dr Sarah Hake (UC Berkeley) and Dr=20
Peter Hedden (Long Ashton Research Station - Bristol).

=46urther particulars may be downloaded from www.plants.ox.ac.uk/ and=20
also are available from the Administrator. Potential applicants are=20
welcome to contact Dr Tsiantis (miltos.tsiantis at plants.ox.ac.uk) to=20
discuss informally further aspects of the project. Applications,=20
including a cv and the names and addresses of two referees, should be=20
sent to the Administrator, Department of Plant Sciences, Oxford OX1=20
3RB, quoting ref PRA/30. Closing date for applications:30th of April=20
2001.
