Research Associate Position in Structural and Functional Genomics of
Barley.</b>&nbsp; Applicants are invited to apply for a Postdoctoral
Research Associate Position in the area of structural and functional
genomics of barley.&nbsp; The responsibilities of this position will
be to work with a multidisciplinary team from several Universities to
begin development of a physical map of the barley genome using a BAC
library.&nbsp; In addition, the incumbent will participate in gene
expression studies utilizing microarray technologies.&nbsp; Gene
expression analyses will mostly be focused on the genetic control of
branching in barley.&nbsp; A large collection of mutants that affect
branching in barley are available for the gene expression
analysis.&nbsp; We are looking for an enthusiastic and
highly-motivated applicant to help lead this effort.&nbsp; The
candidate should have a Ph.D. in plant breeding/genetics, plant
molecular genetics, or related.&nbsp; Experience with computer
databases, genomics, gene expression analysis, and genetic mapping
are desired.&nbsp; Excellent oral and written communication skills
are also desirable.&nbsp; This project is funded for a three-year
