developmental genetics
Michigan State University
Positions are available immediately to study the molecular genetics
of flowering. Highly creative persons are invited to participate in
the advanced characterization of genes regulating flowering in
Arabidopsis. This project provides various opportunities compatible
with a range of expertise/interests, including protein work (epitope
tagging, purification, affinity chromatography), traditional genetics
(mapping, enhancer/suppressor screens), and molecular techniques (RNA
interference, in situ RNA analysis). Significant potential for close
interactions with some of the many plant scientists on the MSU
campus. Postdoctoral position is for two years with opportunities
for extension. Graduate students may enroll in the Program in
Genetics, Cell and Molecular Biology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, or
Department of Horticulture (more info: see
http://www.msu.edu/user/gradschl/plantsci.htm). Interested
candidates should first respond with a letter by email to Dr. Steve
van Nocker (vannocke at msu.edu).
