Tetracycline for transformed Agrobacterium

Arabidopsis Researchers,

I am doing map-based cloning. After I got a BAC clone, I have=20
subcloned diretly into binary vectors. In attempting to transform=20
Agrobacterium GV3101 I have found that there is a high backround=20
having tetracycline resistant colonies whether or not the conc. of=20
tet. is low ( 4 ug/ml) or high (12.5 ug/ml). The vector I used has=20
only tet. selection marker. Has anyone seen this happen before? Is it=20
a common occurrence? How about other strains (LBA4404 etc)? How much=20
transformation efficiency by vaccum infiltration to plants does the=20
strain have when compared with GV3101? Can anyone recommend some=20
references where this phenomenon is discussed? Any help would be=20
appreciated.

Sincerely yours,
