Postdoc position at INRA Versailles (France)

The following postdoctoral fellowship position is available immediately at
INRA Versailles in France and is restricted to non-french applicants.
Applicants available to start in January 2002 are also encouraged to apply.

About INRA :
Information about the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique is
available via the web site http://www.inra.fr

About the position :
We require a motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Fellow to work on
molecular physiology and genetics of branching in pea and Medicago. The
applicant should have a PhD and should demonstrate experience in several of
the following : plant genetics, molecular biology, particularly in gene
expression techniques, generation and analysis of transgenic plants.
Experience with plant physiology is highly desirable.

About the project :
The Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to the understanding of branching
in plants by studying genes expressed in the largest collection of
branching mutants available in any species. The ramosus pea mutants have
been physiologically characterized in collaboration with CA Beveridge (The
University of Queensland, Brisbane)(see Beveridge CA (2000) Long-distance
signalling and a mutational analysis of branching in pea. Plant Growth
Regul 32:193-203) and their molecular analysis will improve the current
model for branching control which includes roles of two novel long-distance
signals. Further mutagenesis of branching mutant lines and screening for
decreased branching has provided new mutants and the opportunity to
discover other branching control mechanisms. The applicant will be involved
in the characterization of 3 of these new mutants in collaboration with
Brisbane.

How to apply :
Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae, list of publications,
brief statement of experience, skills and qualifications and the names of
two referees to :
