Plant Biochemistry and Metabolic Engineering
Assistant/Associate Professor
Michigan State University

The Department of Plant Biology invites applications for position as
Assistant or Associate Professor in Plant Biochemistry and Metabolic
Engineering.  Candidates are sought with research on investigation and
application of biochemical diversity within the plant kingdom, metabolic
engineering of novel products in plants, and genetic or genomic approaches
toward understanding plant metabolic pathways and their regulation, but
applicants with outstanding research records in all areas of plant
biochemistry and its regulation are encouraged to apply.  Candidates will
be expected to establish a vigorous, externally funded, research program
and to teach in the department.   Michigan State University has a
traditional and expanding focus in plant biochemistry which is supported by
superb infrastructure including new facilities for high-throughput DNA
sequencing, proteomics, 900 MHz NMR, and microarrays.  Faculty at MSU are
eligible for funding from the $50 million per year Michigan Life Sciences
Corridor.  Review of applications will begin August 15 and continue until
suitable candidates are identified.  Interested persons should submit a
letter of application, a summary of research and teaching goals, and CV
