Ph.D. studentship in plant developmental biology at the University of
Cologne, Germany

Applications are invited for a PhD position to work on a signal
transduction pathway that controls cell fate in plant meristems.

The Institute of Developmental Biology consists of five research groups
that study fundamental aspects of development, using Drosophila, zebrafish,
maize, Antirrhinum and Arabidopsis as model systems. Joint research
programs exist with the departments of genetics and zoology, and also with
the Max-Planck-Institute for Plant Breeding located nearby. (For more
information about our research, see Brand, U. et al.,  (2000): Science 289,
617-619). The position is initially funded for three years, salary will be
according to the german BATIIa/2 scale. Interested candidates should have a
MSc or other qualifications equivalent to a german "Diploma" in biology.
