lignin

Dear arabinetters,

does anybody of you know whether sucrose added to steril liquid cultures
(1% (w/v)) influences the lignin content of Arabidopsis (or anything else
present in 1/2 MS medium).
We have (to me unexpected) indications that plants grown in liquid culture
do have a higher lignin content than plants grown on soil. The latterare of
course much more rigid than plants from liquid media.
