Post-Doctoral Position in Arabidopsis Genomics

Sequencing of the Arabidopsis Genome reveals many genes that are supported
only by computer-based predictions. The goal of this project is to clone and
sequence full-length cDNAs for these "hypothetical genes" with a view to
both validating or amending their predicted structure, and ultimately to
assessing their function. This project will provide the successful applicant
with experience in both high throughput cloning and sequencing technologies
and in bioinformatic approaches to assessing gene predictions, structure and
function. Applicants should possess a graduate degree in Molecular Biology
and have hands-on experience in RNA isolation, primer design, PCR and
cloning techniques.
