Canadian Research Chair in the Biological Chemistry of Plants or Fungi
Departments of Botany and Chemistry
The University of British Columbia is initiating a search for
applicants for a Canadian Research Chair in the Biological Chemistry
of Plants or Fungi. The Canadian Research Chair program has been
established by the Canadian Federal Government with the purpose of
attracting/retaining outstanding researchers to/within the Canadian
university system. This Chair is for a junior-level person (Assistant
Professor level) who will be jointly appointed in the Departments of
Botany and Chemistry. The successful candidate will be expected to
establish a vigorous research program in the biological chemistry of
plants or fungi. We particularly welcome applications in the areas of
natural product biosynthesis, metabolic engineering, biotechnology,
directed evolution of enzymes, genomics, and chemical ecology. He/She
will be expected to participate in the education of students at the
undergraduate and graduate level in Botany and Chemistry. UBC hires
