Postdoctoral Research Associate:
Plant Molecular Biology/Genetics
R&AIA =A317,626 to =A326,491 pa
Available for 3 years

Ref: R9438

A 3-year, BBSRC-funded postdoctoral position is available to study the mode
of action of atABC1, a plastidic protein involved in intercompartmental
communication between plastids and the nucleus. Applicants should have a PhD
and a background in plant physiology, and in Arabidopsis molecular genetics
and/or molecular biology.
The overall aim of the programme is to elucidate the specific mode of action
of atABC1 in Arabidopsis, to understand how chloroplasts influence
phytochrome signal transduction, and to isolate new components involved in
retrograde signalling.

The project is technically and intellectually demanding and therefore
requires a postdoctoral assistant with experience in aspects of plant
physiology, molecular biology/genetics, and preferably in protein-protein
interaction studies.

Informal enquiries to Dr. Simon Geir M=AFller (Tel: (0116) 2525302;
e-mail:sgm5 at le.ac.uk).

Application forms and further particulars are available from the Personnel
