MSU-DOE PLANT RESEARCH LABORATORY
Michigan State University
Faculty Positions in Plant Biology
The MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory (PRL) has two tenure-track
faculty positions available at the Assistant Professor level. The
specific areas of research are not defined, but candidates should
plan to employ optimal technologies to investigate important unsolved
problems in plant biology. We are especially interested in
identifying individuals whose expertise complements that of the
existing faculty and who are studying problems that are unique to
plants or where plant systems offer particular advantages.
The PRL, with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, provides an
excellent environment for creative research in plant biology. Modern
laboratory space, set-up funds, and continuing research support will
be provided. Michigan State University, with unusual breadth and
depth in the plant sciences, provides a stimulating atmosphere with
excellent colleagues and facilities. PRL faculty members are jointly
appointed in an appropriate academic department.
Applicants should have postdoctoral research experience with
demonstrated productivity and evidence of potential for independent
research. Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.
To assure consideration, applications should be received by June 1,
2002. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a summary of
research accomplishments, and a brief description of future plans.
Candidates should arrange to have three letters of reference sent to
the search committee. All materials should be sent to:
