POSTDOCTORAL POSITION - Plant Molecular Physiology

INRA Versailles (France) - Laboratory of Plant Nitrogen Nutrition

A post-doctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Plant 
Nitrogen Nutrition in the field of Molecular Plant Physiology. The 
successful applicant will work in a research team studying genetic 
and molecular aspects of nitrogen transport, storage and mobilisation 
in Arabidopsis headed by Dr. Francoise Vedele. The research topic 
will cover nitrate transport, nitrate use efficiency and nitrate 
signalling in A.thaliana focussing on the identification of 
interaction between root responses to N-limitation, studies of T-DNA 
tagged mutants deregulated in the response of root architecture to 
NO3 and the isolation of growth-deficiency suppressor mutants. The 
post doc position is provided by an EU Research Training Network 
which offers the possibility of multiple short stays in other well 
known europeen laboratories and the participation in special training 
courses.

Applicants for this position should have a PhD in 
biology/biochemistry with experience in plant molecular biology. The 
appointment will be for 2 years at the INRA Versailles with the 
possibility of an extension of 2 year at the MPI of Plant Molecular 
Physiology, Golm, Germany (in the department headed by Prof. Mark 
Stitt). The fellowship is restricted to European, non-French 
applicants.
